Darby Todd is the drummer in Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) new band, Hot Leg. Darby is also the permanent drummer with jazz funk act ´Protect The Beat´ featuring Derek Nash from Jools Holland´s band and 2 of the guys from ´Massive Attack´ Winston Blissett and Arden Hart. Their latest album ´Intrepid´ was at number 1 for 15 weeks. Darby has gigged with Gary Moore and earlier this year played drums for Buddy Whittington´s (John Mayall) 15 date UK tour. Andy Newmark brought Darby into Disney´s Lion King during the shows 1st year and they remain close friends. In 1993 Darby won the title ´UK Young Drummer of the Year´ Sponsored by ´Rhythm Magazine´ who will be featuring Darby in an article to coincide with the release of the ´Hot Leg´ CD later this year.
