Travis Marc bought his first drum kit in 1999 after winning some money on a major South African radio station. He then went on to attend private tuition and after competing in a local drum solo competition, was invited to study at one of the top musical institutions in South Africa: the National School of the Arts.
During this time, Travis was taught and advised by some of the best drummers in the country and upon graduating from the school, dove head first into the industry.
Travis soon began building a reputable name within the Rock, Pop, Dance and Hip Hop scenes and has been constantly hired as a recording and touring drummer for a number of the country’s top artists including: Adrian Ziller, 1st Project, Baboon Dandy, Lonehill Estate, Nighthawk, Pyramid Tongue and Voodoo Child.
In addition to his constant session work, Travis also heads up his own successful trio called Munkinpure - an Indie-type band for which he composes the majority of the music and is also the lead vocalist. Munkinpure tour and record whenever the schedules of its three members allow.
Never one to enjoy time off, Travis is also the original mastermind behind the successful drumming brand, iGrooves, a business venture that hires out drummers and percussionists for performances within the corporate industry. There are currently successful iGrooves branches in both South Africa and London.
Travis has been performing on a session basis with London based Glam Rockers, "Wasted Sinners" and recently featured in Rhythm magazines introducing section with the band.
