CJ Jones

Independent

CJ Jones was born in a small Welsh town and made his first foray into drumming aged three, and has been regularly performing since the age of ten. Raised during the revolution of Welsh Brit-Pop, early influences came from Catatonia, the Stereophonics and the Manic Street Preachers and with a raiding of the parents’ record collection CJ was soon drawn to the likes of Phil Collins, Steely Dan and The Beatles.

Following Jazz Studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, CJ left Wales for London and began working with Laura White (X-Factor), singer-songwriter Al Lewis and renowned composer Mike McEvoy with whom he recorded the soundtrack for a new National Geographic documentary series.

More recently CJ toured with highly-acclaimed fellow countryman Rod Thomas (aka Bright Light Bright Light) and spent 2013 on the road as MD/drummer with chart-topping pop act A*M*E supporting Jessie J, JLS and Olly Murs. CJ is currently getting ready for the 2014 festival season and is looking forward to appearances at Glastonbury and Hyde Park.

CJ is currently providing drums and musical direction for Max Marshall, Orla Gartland and Molly Smitten-Downes.
