Lya Reis Guerrero (Independent)
Born in Venezuela in 1985, Lya started playing and studying drums at the age of 14, with the recognised teacher Jose Mato. After 4 years in the music scene, she joined the funky and disco band MAJARETE SOUND MACHINE www.majaretesm.net playing in clubs and in a few local festivals, such as Diablitos Parque Extremo and the tribute to the famous Venezuelan composer, Aldemaro Romero, founder of the Onda Nueva Style in Venezuela.
In 2007, she co-founded Elaine, opening for the UK band LOS CAMPESINOS at the festival Diablitos Experience, and having a full crowd at the festival Por el Medio de la Calle, They were being recognised as a revelation indie-punk band by many international bloggers from Germany, Colombia, Spain, Russia, Japan and Mexico. In 2010 she moved to London, attended to the Music Tech Schools where she graduated with a Certificate in Performance. She has worked playing drums & percussion as well as recording and producing for several artists in the British music scene such as: Juanita Euka, Francois Peglau, Jahcub, Ma’ Grass, Vinyl Black Stillettos, Paraclouds, SUBSET, Jamie & The Martyrs, Estrangeiros, Flowsnatcha, Los Calendarios, The Baby Factory, La Explosion, Loretta Heywood,Baldo Verdu y su Tonto Malembe, Fusion Femmes, Animanz, Hot Mama, Dave Randall (Faithless) in Slovo Sound System, Wara, Gabriela Eva, Clean Bandit (Drum-line), Sola Akinbola (Jamiroquai) in Critical Mass, Animanz, Intaya and many more.
She played in venues such as: Ronnie Scott’s, Proud, The Roof Gardens, Century Soho Club, Passing Clouds, White Lion, The Troubadour, Floripa, 93ft East, Camden Jazz Cafe, Hootananys, Charlie Wrights, Ronnie Scotts, and Festivals such as Lovebox, Boomtown, Glastonbury, Festival La Linea, Secret Garden and Bestival, recently participated with drum-line for Clean Bandit at the MTV Europe Music awards 2017.
